OUR STORY
The original Ashland House Restaurant began in 1986 in the heart of Heights area in Houston, Texas. The idea was to have a quaint tea room housed in an old historical home. Due to the demand, we quickly became a well-known restaurant specializing in home-cooked meals from scratch.
Moving to a larger location in the the well-known Spring Branch area, Ashland House has become popular for its hot meals such as chicken fried steak, meatloaf, as well as my healthy and fresh salads, soup and sandwiches -- all made from generations of recipes and without preservatives and all natural ingredients. Don't miss the desserts and coffees, either! We make these daily, and the pies and cakes are amazing.
The service is great, the food is "crazy good" and the repeat customers all feel like family to one another. Most of our staff has been with me since I began, so they welcome you by name and know just how you like everything. We have been known as the "best kept secret in town."
During this time, we developed the "cheese crackers" and these are served as a small treat on the table before meals. Becoming so popular, people began requesting them to buy and suggesting that we even package and market these to everyone.
These crackers -- packaged to resemble a quaint tea house -- are great for gourmet and specialty shops featuring in something unique and wonderful. As a note, we have also created the best Chocolate Sauce which we would like to package and market as well.
